Dear Parents and Guardians, December 2018
★ Please come and see 3rd, 4th and 5th grade sing and play instruments to
winter classics and original student compositions at the Winter Concert on
December 19th at 1:00 PM in the auditorium.
★ Many people have been asking about our school song. Here is a performance

3rd, 4th and 5th graders will be creating a performance checklist to follow while they get up on the stage for their first performance of the year. They will also be recording themselves singing their Holiday
Concert music and analyzing how they sound and how they can sound even better (GLOWS AND
GROWS). Please continue to practice at home with the links on my Google Site (link above).
Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd graders are moving into the next unit of the MUSIC AND THE BRAIN
curriculum. Students are encouraged to practice at home even if they do not have an instrument. Here’s
how: identify right and left hand, identify finger numbers (Thumb 1, Index 2, Middle 3, Ring 4, Pinky 5),
say a set of numbers and repeat it with their fingers on a flat surface. Students should have curved fingers
(spider fingers).

Carnegie Hall .
All students of music are reminded to BE SAFE, BE POLITE, BE COOPERATIVE, BE
RESPONSIBLE and BE KIND. When working with a partner or group HELP NOT HURT each other.
